At home on Strijp-T
In the presence of almost 200 guests, Gerard Philips once again came 'home' to Strijp‑T yesterday, exactly 132 years after Philips' founding date.

This time in the form of an enormous work of art, which stands as a symbol of humanity and innovation. A monument that is not only about the past, but also ‘a gateway to the future’.
Nice to see that everything is in order. Gerard Philips, the driving force behind Philips and known as Maker, Creater and Innovater could not have received a more fitting place than in the Gloeilampplantsoen on Strijp-T.
A place where companies still engage every day in high-quality innovation, high tech and design and prepare for the future.
The statue of Gerard Philips is, as an inspiration for future generations, already nominated for the most special spot in the Municipality of Eindhoven to photograph. Both during the day and in the evening. Also in the tunnel itself, which functions as a selfie paradise in its own right. Definitely worth coming to experience.
The sculpture was made by Andreas Hetfeld and handed over by Philips to mayor Jeroen Dijsselbloem as a lasting memento of this remarkable man, who has had so much impact on society and the surrounding area and who, since yesterday, has once again managed to make an impression in Brainport Eindhoven.
