At (the) T at... Stefan de Bever from De Bever Architects.

At the start of a new year, people often take a moment to make plans. This is also the case with the development and design of Strijp-T. That's why Cecile and Boudie recently sat down with architect Stefan de Bever, who has been closely involved with Strijp-T for years and plays an important role there.

What does your company do?

"We create and monitor the quality of"despace to include people in itone"We design and engineer from chair to city to create a pleasant way of working and living. For Strijp-T, this means that we are involved in the design, transformation, and renovation of the Innovation Powerhouse and building TX. We also actively participate in the urban design of the entire area, including coming up with ideas, implementing, and monitoring. For example, we are the creators of the T-line walking route and the Strijp-T-shirt. Currently, we are also working on setting up the new office tower and industrial hall for Bosch in building TX," said Stefan.

“Het unieke van Strijp-T is om met een hecht team jarenlang betrokken te blijven bij deze grootse ontwikkeling. Een prachtige uitdaging om zorgvuldig om te gaan met 25 Ha historisch waardevol terrein. Hierbij het stoere industriële karakter behouden van het ensemble van verschillende  architectonisch waardevolle Philips fabrieken. Dusdanig transformeren dat gebied en gebouw toekomst bestendig blijven. En dat de filosofie van Philips voortleeft: Praktische gebouwen met veel natuurlijk licht, ruim van opzet met bovengemiddeld groen, zodat je op Strijp-T in een prettige omgeving bevindt. En dat Strijp-T voedingsbodem blijft voor saamhorigheid. Het typische Philips familiegevoel om dingen samen te doen, herken je ook nu weer bij de Strijp-T community. De mens staat al die jaren nog steeds centraal. Door een prettige werk en leefomgeving te creëren, wilde men vroeger graag bij Philips werken. Strijp-T is nog steeds een inspirerende plek om te werken wat de laatste jaren in het kader van de ‘battle for talent’ cruciaal is”.

What is your role?

"As an architect and owner of De Bever Architects, I lead our team. As a spatial thinker, I oversee the helicopter view within the Strijp-T development and construction team, and as a creative director, I take charge."
