On (the) T at... Michel Weeda from Sorama

What does Sorama do?

”We make the world sound right”, so reads our mission” said Michel. “Noise pollution is unconsciously permanently present and thus sound can be seen as a kind of stealth killer. With our products we make sound visible.

Our innovative technology ensures that sound is localized, visualized, quantified and qualified remotely. As a result, we are now active worldwide in cities, stadiums, the built environment, industry and for companies that develop products in which sound plays a role. All of this is thanks to our CEO Rick Scholte, who in 2009 started the company in the basement of the Eindhoven University of Technology and now, with a team of 75 people, works daily on innovation and on further rolling out our product portfolio”.

What is your role?

“I lead the acoustic engineering team and am often in conversation with new clients. Working daily with a young, driven team, engaging with the latest technology and at the same time contributing to a healthier world gives me a lot of energy. This dynamic and atmosphere fit perfectly with Strijp-T, where an active community is present and various events take place, such as the annual tournament. In addition, a visit to the roof terrace has by now become a standard part of welcoming clients who visit our office. And, not unimportantly, business synergy also takes place here in an accessible way, such as with Avular, which equips its mobile robotics with our sound cameras”.

Who would you like to see us go to the T with next time and why?

“Be sure to visit Settels Savenije Group of Companies, here on the other side of the site. They are also a rapidly growing, innovative high-tech company with an impressive machine park, customer portfolio and modern cleanrooms. Definitely worth it”.
