On (the) T at Brainport for Each Other
..... Jacline de Kort from Brainport for Each Other.
What does your organization do?
“Brainport Development has recently initiated Brainport for Each Other; an association of employers from business, the social sector, education and government. The members want to contribute to the overall well-being of the region by getting to work on solutions for social challenges in the Brainport region. We can only remain an economically successful region if we are also strong in the social field,” said Jacline.
“The association was established at the beginning of this year by bringing together various existing initiatives from the Municipality of Eindhoven, the Municipality of Helmond, Brainport Development, Impact 040 and Samen voor Eindhoven, into a single one-stop shop for corporate social responsibility (CSR)”.
What is your role?
"As a marketer, I started working at Brainport Development almost five years ago and am currently employed as Manager of the Brainport voor Elkaar Program Office. I lead a passionate team of seven people every day to strengthen the overall well-being of the Brainport region and to make a difference. And we explicitly do not limit ourselves to the very large, well-known companies in our region. For example, Wendy van den Akker, our charity broker, maintains a lot of contact with SMEs."
"Because we are based at the office of Brainport Development on Strijp‑T, making connections is very easy. Our inspiring and easily accessible workplace, situated in the middle of the business community, ensures that people are happy to come to us. And thanks to our ambassadors Paul van Nunen and mayor Jeroen Dijsselbloem, a literal connection automatically arises between the economic and social agenda of our region. Strijp‑T as the center of the Innovation District is fantastic for functioning as a ‘spider in the web’ and forging connections."
“Strijp-T is, in our actions, such as for example from April 2 to 17 where we collect jeans for Kledingbank Eindhoven, one of the collection points. Through the Strijp-T community the theme of CSR is further brought to attention at different times and in different ways and to invite companies to become members of our association”.
Who do you want us to go to on the T next time and why?
“At Prysmian Draka. As one of the larger companies here on the site I am curious how they activate their CSR thinking.”
