Building TAQ nominated for the architecture prize in Eindhoven
EINDHOVEN - Building TAQ is in the running for the Dirk Roosenburg Prize for architecture in the city of Eindhoven.
The nomination committee of the Dirk Roosenburg Prize 2017 for architecture in Eindhoven reviewed a total of forty construction projects. On Wednesday, ten candidates for the title were announced. The jury will deliberate in September, and after a public voting round, the winner of the prize from the municipality of Eindhoven will be announced on Friday, October 27, at the end of the Dutch Design Week.
Secretary René Erven emphasizes that the prize is not only intended for architectural design or material choice. "We want to stimulate the discussion about good architecture in the city. The national election of building of the year by the professional organization BNA only looks at the classical architectural arguments. We take a broader view, including the use and the way the building has been received in the city. And also the challenge the architect faced and whether the solution fits the city's ambitions, such as how sustainability and repurposing have been addressed."
