EINDHOVEN-BASED STARTUP SORAMA ENTERS INTO COLLABORATION WITH FLUKE

The Eindhoven-based startup Sorama is entering into a partnership with Fluke, a well-known manufacturer of measuring equipment. Together, the companies have developed a new way to simplify and speed up the detection of compressed air leaks. The result of this collaboration is a new product that allows technicians to trace compressed air, gas, or vacuum leaks.

So far, the technology used to visualize sound - called "beam forming" - has been expensive to implement, complicated to use, and mainly focused on high-end R&D or consulting services. Fluke has partnered with Sorama to make available the expertise that the Eindhoven-based company has in the field of acoustic imaging for maintenance technicians, and has developed a tool that has the durability and usability required for industrial maintenance applications.

"A few months after celebrating our ten-year anniversary, this is a new milestone for Sorama," said Dr. Rick Scholte, CEO and founder of Sorama. "The collaboration with Fluke enables interesting applications for maintenance purposes, in addition to our increasing impact for customers in the field of low-noise product design and smart cities."

"To address the pain points of our customers, we are constantly looking for collaborations with innovative companies," says Henk Koppelmans, engineering manager at Fluke Corporation. "The collaboration with Sorama is a great example of leveraging disruptive technology for scalable innovation that Fluke's customers will highly appreciate."
