Mobility
Yesterday, the first results of the Strijp-T mobility research were presented in sector T at building TQ, an initiative by Brainport Bereikbaar. The team of Wouter de Valk, Jos Wijnen, and Marijn Lugt mapped the commuting patterns of all StrijpT residents based on postal codes.
It is enlightening to see how many people from far and wide across the country come to work at StrijpT on a daily basis.
There are many opportunities to further improve mobility. In addition, some practical examples of Strijp-T companies were discussed. Leading by example is always a good practice. For instance, CTOUCH is involved in the bicycle leasing plan and the public transport business card. Marli van Boekel from Brainport Development shared her experiences with car sharing through MyWheels. And SOLE by PodoPrinter BV introduced the concept of a 'mobile bicycle repair service'.
The mobility brokers will set up various actions in the coming period with the Strijp-T community and the development team. Attention is also being paid to a parking garage in the 1,000 trees plan, which will further green the area, making pedestrians and cyclists feel even more welcome and safe at Strijp-T. In addition, research is currently being conducted with Kwirkey to optimize parking at Strijp-T.
In short, the theme of mobility at Strijp-T is not without reason the theme of this year and is reflected in various initiatives. "The power of the collective at Strijp-T to learn from each other and hold each other accountable is typical of T and makes improving mobility even more promising," says Wouter.
The meeting ended with a snack and a drink at Vascobelo, where further discussions took place about ideas and experiences regarding mobility.
