Mobility

Yesterday the first results of the Strijp-T mobility study, an initiative of Brainport Bereikbaar, were presented in vakT in building TQ. The team of Wouter de Valk, Jos Wijnen and Marijn Lugt mapped the commuting of all StrijpT residents based on postal codes.

It's enlightening to see how many people from far across the country come to StrijpT every day to work.

There are many opportunities to further improve mobility. Attention was also paid to a number of practical examples from Strijp-T companies. After all, a good example encourages others to follow. For example, CTOUCH is active with the bicycle lease plan and the OV business card. Marli van Boekel of Brainport Development spoke about her experiences with shared transport from MyWheels. And SOLE by PodoPrinter BV drew attention to the idea of the 'mobile bicycle mechanic'.

The mobility brokers will set up various actions in the coming period together with the Strijp-T community and the development team. The 1,000 trees plan, which will further green the site, also pays attention to a parking garage and to making pedestrians and cyclists feel even more welcome and safe at Strijp-T. In addition, research is currently being carried out together with Kwirkey to optimize parking at Strijp-T.

In short, the theme of mobility at Strijp-T is not the theme of the year for nothing and is reflected in various initiatives. “The strength of the collective at Strijp-T to learn from one another and to call each other to account is typically T and ensures that improving mobility becomes particularly promising,” said Wouter.

The meeting ended with a snack and a drink at Vascobelo where people continued to chat about ideas and experiences around mobility.
