First MELT location to open in early 2021 in building TQ at Strijp-T.

After the daily stand-up meeting, checking your email on your own balcony or in the rooftop garden, preparing your plan in the quiet room to then present it in the boardroom. And before the Friday afternoon drinks, you quickly stop by the on-site barber or the gym for a quick workout. And all of this in an interior where you would also love to live.

In the autumn, all of this comes together in MELT, a new high-end shared working space on the top floor of building TQ at Strijp-T in Eindhoven. MELT is aimed at high-tech companies that need a flexible working environment with room to grow within an inspiring community. In addition to workspaces, MELT offers a variety of facilities for relaxation, reading, gaming, brainstorming together, and even for a power nap. Furthermore, a space will be set up to experiment with additional services such as having a hairdresser at work or a VR room. What makes MELT unique is that the rented spaces can be constantly adjusted based on the changing needs of tenants.

Strijp-T is known as the area where companies from the high-tech sector establish themselves, as well as companies closely related to it. It is a sector where attracting and retaining talent is the number one priority. Being able to offer an inspiring work environment where employees feel at home, in a well-connected location and where a good work-life balance is facilitated is of great importance. For start-ups and scale-ups, this is a challenge. At MELT, all of this comes together and companies can choose from a combination of ready-to-use fixed workspaces and memberships that provide access to the building.

KRAGT has conducted extensive research on the needs of high-tech startups such as software development, data science, and product design agencies. Their growth depends on the ability to recruit and retain new talent. And this new generation values things other than just the highest salary. They want cool projects, nice colleagues, and the ability to determine where and when they work. Fixed working hours and a hierarchical culture do not fit in. There are no separate executive offices at MELT, but there is a kitchen to cook together, a balcony and a large rooftop garden for walking, having lunch, exercising, and socializing. MELT is entirely designed to encourage collaboration, efficient work, productivity, and having fun together.

Koen van Loon, director of shared workspaces at KRAGT, ran a web development agency himself for 15 years: "To attract talent as well as clients, you need to leave an unforgettable impression time and time again. For this first MELT location, the rooftop of building TQ is perfect with the train station at the doorstep, the lively city center within walking distance, and a beautiful view over Eindhoven. The interior will be high-end, cozy, and with many round shapes, based on the theme of 'merging'."

KRAGT worked closely with the development team of Strijp-T to realize their plans. Boudie Hoogedeure from the Strijp-T team is happy with the arrival of MELT: "The Strijp-T model is based on accommodating innovative high-tech manufacturing companies. We are pleased that this is now further strengthened and prominently put on the map with MELT."
