This edition of Peeking into the Neighbors focuses on an important theme; cybersecurity. We do this with the Cyber Resilience Center Brainport.

Cybersecurity complicated? Quite so. But we can no longer avoid making an effort. 80 percent of SMEs have been targeted by cybercriminals at some point. That's a lot. Even more than with large companies. The percentage stops at 75 percent for them. Also a lot, but nowadays there are more victims among smaller businesses. However, only 29 percent of SMEs see cybercrime as a major risk, compared to 64 percent of large companies.

The Cyber Resilience Center Brainport (CWB) tries to make entrepreneurs aware of this. And of the many misconceptions that still exist. To encourage them to take at least basic measures, as this can prevent a lot of trouble. But also to ensure that there is an emergency plan ready, so that a company can recover from a cyber crisis as quickly as possible.

Moreover, a new law is coming. On behalf of Europe. And there is a very high chance that your company will have to deal with it. If not directly, then indirectly. Starting from autumn 2024. Does that sound far away? Do not forget that transitioning or adapting takes time.
