In this edition of Gluren bij de Buren we zoom in on an important theme; cybersecurity. We do that with the Brainport Cyber Resilience Centre.

Cybersecurity complicated? Pretty much. But we can no longer avoid doing something about it. 80 percent of SMEs have at some point been targeted by cybercriminals. That's a lot. Even more than among large companies. There the figure is 75 percent. Also a lot, but nowadays more victims are among the smaller companies. Yet only 29 percent of SMEs see cybercrime as a major risk, compared with 64 percent of large companies.

Cyber Resilience Center Brainport (CWB) tries to make entrepreneurs aware of this. And of the many misconceptions that still exist. To encourage them to at least take basic measures, because that can already prevent a lot of misery. But also to ensure that an emergency plan is ready, so that a company can recover from a cyber crisis as quickly as possible.

Moreover, a new law is coming. At the behest of Europe. And there is a very good chance that your company will be affected by it. If not directly, then indirectly. From autumn 2024. Does that sound far away? Then don't forget that switching or adapting takes time.

During Gluren bij de Buren the CWB draws attention to this. And to the fact that we can help organizations. For example with a series of help cards, which can be downloaded from our website without restrictions. And anyone doing business in the chain of the national high-tech manufacturing industry can become a member of the CWB. A non-profit foundation with one goal in mind: a cyber-resilient sector. To that end the CWB provides several services and encourages and facilitates participants to share knowledge and expertise with one another. That way we stand strong together.
