Shapeways, the engine behind digital production technologies, has signed a long-term lease for a new manufacturing and office location in Eindhoven. This marks an important step in the company's ongoing investment in the European market.
The company will be located in Hall 4 of the historic TX machine factory on Strijp-T, which is currently undergoing a large-scale transformation. In addition to the sustainability upgrade of the nearly 300‑meter‑long industrial hall and the underlying basement, three office towers will be built on top of the building. There will also be a central meeting plaza, various ateliers added in the souterrain, and a spacious bicycle parking facility installed. Shapeways will become the third company that as of 2026 establishes in the TX building.
In Shapeways' new space modern 3D printers will be installed, where in the past machines were made by Philips for the production of precision equipment such as X-ray and television components.
Marleen Vogelaar, CEO of Shapeways: “A move always brings the past and the future together — it is a moment to look back at what has been achieved, and to look ahead to new opportunities. Since the restart last year, Shapeways' new management team has been focusing on a successful further growth in the 3D printing market. The redevelopment of Strijp-T has a rich history with Philips, and we are delighted to now, as one of the modern high‑tech manufacturing companies, take over the baton of innovation at this location and carry it forward.
Boudie Hoogedeure of the Strijp-T development team: “Strijp-T focuses on innovative, creative high-tech manufacturing companies. We are therefore very pleased and proud to welcome Shapeways to Strijp-T. 3D printing technology is a prime example of the Make-Create-Innovate activity that forms the core of Strijp-T.”
