On (the) T at… Studio on TQ
This edition brought the T-pot Cecile Smeets and Boudie Hoogedeure to a very special place: the rooftop garden of building TQ. Right at the top, on the corner, is locatedStudio on TQ – a creative incubator where ideas come to life. Cecile and Boudie were warmly received by Brit Zweegers, Ine Marijke Schurink and Bernard Gosselink, complete with freshly baked cookies from Sal-T.
What does Studio at TQ actually do?
Ine Marijke explains: “The name of our company indicates our location – we are literallyon TQ. From this studio, Brit and I work on all kinds of assignments for companies seeking help with design, corporate identity, logos, websites and graphic print work.”
Brit adds: "Many of the Strijp-T community's outputs also come from us. Think of the materials for the Strijp-T tournament, the illustrated annual report and the design of the small button. Our creative slogans for i3CONNECT (formerly CTOUCH) on their promotional material and vans are well known. In addition, we have also had the pleasure of doing nice projects for our next-door neighbours – LIOC Patents & Trademarks, Louwers IP&Tech Advocaten - LAWYERS OF CHANGE and SOLE by PodoPrinter BV –. And for the organization of the @Dutch Design Week we are a well-known collaboration partner."
How do you work together?
“We are both self-employed, each with our own company,” says Ine Marijke. “But at Strijp‑T we work as one face on assignments, such as the creative support of the community. I focus mainly on concept and strategy.” Brit adds: “And I focus on execution. Brainstorming together is essential – and a ‘micro-walk’ across the roof garden always helps to get the creativity flowing.”
With a wink, Ine Marijke adds: "Recently we've even got our own 'receptionist': Bernard."
Bernard explains: “Since my time at Ctouch came to an end, I work as a consultant for innovative start-ups such as Yield, also here on Strijp-T. In addition, I am the chair of the community. From this studio we facilitate many of the community's activities. You are literally on top of everything here, with a beautiful view over the site. You couldn't wish for a better place.”
“This is also called the beating heart of the Strijp-T tournament,” Bernard says. “From here much is devised, organized and carried out for this annually popular community event. But the success is due to a large team of volunteers from other Strijp-T companies. That collaboration, that is exactly what I find so beautiful. Just like this studio’s way of working: together you are always stronger.”
Finally: whose place should the T-pot visit next time?
“TWOFIFTYK!” shout Ine Marijke and Brit enthusiastically. “They do such awesome projects – we think it would be fun to work with them!”
