On (the) T at....B-too

Because 'neighbor' Myrna Boon of Draka Comteq Fibre B.V. had indicated in the previous edition of 'Op (de) T bij...' that she was curious about what all takes place in that small building TT, Cecile Smeets and Boudie Hoogedeure this time went with the T-pot to check it out.

There they found in an almost empty building a smiling Joep Verheijen, founder of (interior) architecture firm B-Too and, recently, commercial director of the B-group . “Welcome, I'm busy clearing out the last remnants, such as a sofa, a bookcase from the former Amsterdam library. Because from next month this place will be one of the development sites of Strijp-T”

What does your organization do?

“Even before the plans for the development of Strijp-T into a sustainable business park for high-tech innovative and creative companies were made, we had already been located here for years, since 2014. B-Too was founded on 11-11-1999 and is 25 years old this year! “Partly from this characteristic former Philips car wash we have been involved with architecture and interior”.

Through an edition of ‘Gluren bij de Buren’, I met Eric Offermans of B-invented B.V. That was the start of exploring how, by bundling our disciplines, we could together provide the integrated construction process in an innovative way. And so, on 14 juli 2022, B-Too merged with the B-group to add the artistic part to the chain. In the meantime, a wide range of activities has been accommodated within the B-group in various BV’s, such as B-invented (construction & engineering), B-smart (substructure & foundation), B-happy (process management) and B-leaf (timber construction).

What is your role?

“As a commercial man I am primarily a connector between (new) customers and the B-group, but also a connector within the Strijp-T community. It is therefore nice not to have to work from a ‘separate little island’ on this site anymore, but together with the other disciplines from the inspiring TQ building. This makes it even easier to meet others. I find that important. Of course the site and all the renovated business premises are becoming more beautiful, but for me the very best thing about Strijp-T is above all having fun together by being part of the community. Partly because of this we have been able to design the interiors of fellow Strijp-T companies such as CTOUCH, AFA Dispensing, SyncForce, WATT Infra, Whyellow, 24 uur in bedrijf and Avular.”

Who do you want us to go to on the T next time and why?

“Because I play music, I got into conversation with Ernst-Jan Louwers of Louwers IP&Tech Advocaten - LAWYERS OF CHANGE. He asked me for the Strijp-T band during the hashtag#RooftopConcert. I'm curious what he, now exactly, does from the 2nd floor in the Innovation Powerhouse.”
