EINDHOVEN - The Hopper shared bike now also has a base at Strijp-T, next to the Innovation Powerhouse, the former Philips power plant. It is the seventh parking location for the Hopper bikes.

But that's not all, says director Coen Vermeulen of Hopperpoint. The search for the eighth location, at Flight Forum, is currently underway. Discussions are also ongoing about locations at the NRE site (next to the existing one at the municipal office on Nachtegaallaan), High Tech Campus, and ASML. Hopperpoints are already available at Hotel Eindhoven, the City Hall, the Park Plaza Hotel on Geldropseweg, and at Bosch and Klokgebouw on Strijp-S.

New locations
According to Vermeulen, new locations are critically evaluated. They must have added value for the target group and be able to pay for themselves. "It's not about opening as many locations as possible. We have also rejected requests." Currently, there are around 1400 users, while there are even more registered users.

Hopperpoint is now also testing a system where the bikes are equipped with 'smart' locks. This way, they do not necessarily have to be returned to the Hopper storage facility.
