Peeking at the Neighbors

In the past eight years that Strijp-T was redeveloped, the skyline of Strijp-S has also been changing dramatically. Cecile captured this change in the years 2016–2024 in various photos, in which new buildings kept appearing:

Thus came ‘Blok 59’ (designed by diederendirrix architects), ‘Blok 63’ (designed by Pauwert Architectuur B.V.) and ‘Blok 61’ (designed by architecten|en|en). Of course also ‘Donna’ (designed by de bever architecten), the iconic ‘Trudo Tower’ (designed ‘Vertical Forest’ by Stefano Boeri) and ‘Haasje Over’ (designed by VMX Architects) with the ‘IBIS Powernest’ by IBIS Power on the roof. In this period, moreover, ‘Sixty5’ (designed by diederendirrix architects) and ‘NEXT’ (designed by BINST ARCHITECTS) were completed and the residential towers ‘Bold’ (designed by Kraaijvanger Architects), ‘LUX Tower’ (designed by KENK architecten) and ‘FRITS’ (designed by Orange Architects) were delivered.

So one can nowadays also ‘Living on the Veem’, by means of adding extra storeys to the hashtag#Veemgebouw (designed by Caruso St John Architects Llp), and the hashtag#kunstwerk on the roof became visible.

Finally, the highest point of ‘Lighthouse’, the tallest residential tower in Eindhoven (designed by De Zwarte Hond), was recently reached.

The only constant in all the changes was the presence of construction cranes. The symbol of economic development. Which on Strijp-T has brought about the arrival of the light artwork by Hugo Vrijdag on the twin chimneys, the creation of the Gloeilampplantsoen with the arrival of Eindhoven Gym, the temporary location for 'artwork Gerard' by Andreas Hetfeld.

With thanks to Sietske Aussems of Braintours Eindhoven for the information about the names of the various buildings with their associated architectural firms.
